What Businesses Can I Start With Less Than N30,000 in 2022

A common problem that Nigerians are facing is inflation. Everything don cost! Unfortunately, for some, salaries are not being paid on time and even if they are, the money is not enough to provide for the needs of individuals and families. So, with this, a lot of people are thinking of honest ways to increase their streams of income. Lots of people think about starting a new business but then drop the idea because of how expensive it can be to start new businesses. I am here to tell you that not all businesses will create holes in your pocket. Especially when marketed right and managed properly!

Here are five business ideas that will cost you less than thirty thousand Naira to start. Yes, you heard right! Thirty thousand naira!

1. Organic Skincare Products:

Scented butter, glow oils, black soaps, you name it! There are pages on Instagram that sell ingredients needed to make skincare products and they are not expensive at all! However, you will need to do research on what to use depending on what you want to achieve.

2. Online Thrift/Okrika Store:

So personally, I know people cashing out from this. If you don’t mind doing what others don’t want to do; putting on some sunscreen and going to actual markets to buy and resell online, you will make money. Branded Okrika top that can be bought in the market at N300 can be resold (and bought) online for N6,000! Buy the clothes, take individual pictures of them, describe them (size, price, and defects if any), and post! Don’t say I don’t do anything for you!

3. Perfume Retailing

Oil perfumes, spray perfumes, humra, and incense. Find your source and resell. Smelling good never goes out of fashion, so this is a business that will not fail you.

4. Baking

If you have a gas cooker that has an oven that no one uses, this is a good time to put the oven to use! You don’t need to pay anyone for a baking masterclass. There are resources like YouTube that have endless recipes and tips to help you bake delicious treats. Take good pictures of your work, repost and package well, and you are good to go!

5. Gift Shop

As I said, there are things that people just don’t like to do. Some are lazy, some aren’t creative enough, and some don’t have the time. Whatever the reason is, you can make money from it. People struggle with gifting, especially when it has to be on a budget. Getting gifts for their loved ones for birthdays, holidays and other celebrations can be hard. That’s where you come in. Talk to them and find out about the person. You can curate gifts and a box or basket, charge them for those, and for your services too.

If you are a student looking to make extra passive income during this strike, or an individual looking to make ends meet, keep in mind that starting a business will be challenging. Besides money, you will need to invest a lot of time and energy into sourcing what you need. You will even come across customers that will challenge you, but if you plan right and account for all your income and expenses, the money will come and stay.
